Delivery Information

Ball Mason Australia can offer shipping anywhere in Australia and to most countries internationally.  Freight rates are calculated at checkout once you are ready to finalise your order.

Please note that all international orders are sent by international air. As jars are bulky, international freight can be expensive.  If you are wanting to place a large order (ie 5 + cases) contact us with the details of your order and where you want us to ship to internationally to see if we are able to obtain a cheaper custom quote from our courier.  Our shipping charges for international shipments cover the freight component only and you as the customer are responsible for any duties or taxes payable in the destination country.

2.      Click on "Checkout" (top right)

3.      Next enter just your postcode and suburb (if you are already registered click "Login" this should automatically populate the form)

4.      Look at the right hand side and you will see various postage options.

Why shipping charges sometimes seem high and how to get the best rate?

Our shipping calculators are linked directly to Australia Post's servers so the rate you see is the rate Australia post would charge you at the post office. We add nothing extra to this cost. As the calculator is weight based you can ensure that you are getting the "best bang for your buck" by adding or removing items from your cart. For example; if you had a packet of Ball Mason disposable labels that would weigh about 100g you would be charged about $8.75 (the minimum parcel rate) but if you bought 4 packets of disposable labels the postage would remain about the same.


We will send most deliveries by selected couriers which may include Australia Post courier service.  Small orders are generally sent by standard post.  All items are guaranteed posted within 2-3 business days of receiving payment, unless there is an item on backorder or a major sale on. 99% of our orders are despatched the next day or the following day after receiving your order.

If you want a quantity of a particular item or if we have had an unexpected rush of people buying the same item, we may not have the product in stock to send straight away.  In these rare instances, we will contact you with an estimate of when you can expect to receive the item.  If the item is required urgently or you do not wish to wait we will offer a full refund.

Once the item has been posted we are unable to take responsibility for the time it takes for you to receive your item, especially if you live in a regional area.  If you require an item urgently please choose EXPRESS SHIPPINGThis option does just what it says, it ships fast your order will move to the front of the queue.

Please note that with fast shipping, we will post it via the FASTEST METHOD POSSIBLE. On occasion, this does not mean that the parcel will arrive overnight as the shipping company simply cannot fulfill that request.  We at Ball Mason will fulfil the shipping request of the customer and ship it via the fastest method possible, but it is ultimately up to the shipping company with their estimated times of arrival.   

If you buy multiple items, the shipping will be automatically calculated. If you are ordering a number of items, the shipping calculator will be a guide but please contact us for a freight quote on bulk orders.

Special shipping deals.

These items are sent by standard shipping.  If you require the item urgently you will need to arrange with us the cost of express delivery.  Adding other items to your cart and paying for express delivery for them will not automatically entitle you to express shipping for the entire cart and an additional express freight payment will be required for the free shipping or subsidised shipping items.

Special combined orders

Do you have specific requirements and you don’t see it in our store?  Contact us to discuss what you need and we can create a customised invoice for you.

We do our best to keep our postage costs to a minimum to help you save.  For larger items, you are welcome to use your own carrier and we will help organise shipments.

Insurance and Tracking Policy

Most items are sent with packaging. Tracking details will be emailed to the email address on the account you ordered through. 

We package all glass items as securely as we can and consequently, we have a very low level of breakage.  We do not individually bubblewrap glassware due to the cost of packaging materials and the labour cost to do so.  If we were to do this our costs would need to increase dramatically to cover such costs.

However, we are at the mercy of the postal and courier services and on rare occasions breakages can occur, normally due to poor handling practices after the goods have left our warehouse.

If you receive damaged goods, please accept the delivery as damaged and do NOT arrange to have the entire consignment returned to us.  Instead, please contact us via the online ticket system, and include photos of the broken items.

We will apply a store credit to your account which will be deducted from your next order.  We do not apply credits for glass misuse (eg thermal shock or chips on Weck lids) or for aesthetic flaws such as mould marks or other flaws which do not affect the glass integrity.

Sorry but we do not resend replacements.  There is a high likelihood of smaller glass packages being broken in transit and high postage costs mean that the value of the postage far exceeds the value of the replacement items.  By arrangement we can provide replacement items with your next order rather than applying a store credit.

We recommend that you purchase a few more jars than you need just in case your goods are damaged in transit or the jars get broken during processing.

Pick up from store

Pickup is available to save you postage charges. Also MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR OWN PACKAGING or if you like we can supply for a  fee.

Our warehouse hours for collection are strictly Monday to Thursday 10am to 4pm.

We do not have alternative collection points for pick ups outside of these hours or at weekends.  Please note that our staff will not hold goods at their private homes for collection.

If you have your own carrier you are welcome to arrange collection but there will be a fee to cover handling, cartons and packaging materials.
